A Tale of Friendship and Love A Tale of Friendship and Love Memory

“Memory” is a tale of friendship and love.

The most vivid and cherished memories we carry in our hearts often come from childhood—those endless summer days filled with adventure, discovery, and the joy of sharing them with our closest friends.

This story takes place many years ago along the western coast of the Black Sea, near an old dock where retired fishing boats rested. It was less than a kilometer from my aunt’s village, where I spent countless summer vacations, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, its noisy streets, and towering buildings.

The marine yard was off-limits to the public, but my best friend and I had discovered a secret gap in the fence. Slipping through, we would spend hours playing among the old boats. As the day faded, we would sit together, watching the sun sink into the horizon.

One evening, she met my gaze and smiled. In that moment, I felt something different—something beyond friendship. I wished that time would stand still.

Now, thirty years later, I find myself once again at the edge of the dock, the sunset warming my face, the scent of the sea filling the air. And beside me, she sits, looking into my eyes with that same smile.

This time, I understand. It is love. And my wish has come true.
